Extending the life of your Tox
1. Follow Post-Treatment Instructions Carefully
Limit strenuous activity, heat exposure (saunas, steam rooms), and lying flat for at least 24 hours after treatment. Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area during this time.
2. Use Medical-Grade Skincare
Support your results with skincare that includes gentle retinoids, peptides, growth factors, and hyaluronic acid. These ingredients help boost collagen and maintain skin smoothness between treatments.
3. Practice Strict Sun Protection
Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily, wear sunglasses and hats, and limit direct sun exposure. Stay well-hydrated with sugar-free electrolyte water to support skin elasticity and minimize wrinkle formation.
4. Optimize Nutrition and Lifestyle
Eat a diet rich in antioxidants (fruits, vegetables, healthy fats) to fight skin-damaging free radicals. Avoid processed sugars, and prioritize high-quality sleep to support skin repair.
5. Stick to a Regular Injection Schedule
Schedule your treatments approximately every 3 months to maintain consistent results. Waiting too long allows full muscle function to return, which can reduce the longevity of your outcomes over time.
6. Avoid Tox Accelerators
Smoking, alcohol, unmanaged stress, and high-sugar diets can all break down collagen and shorten the life of your tox results. Aim to reduce these factors for better, longer-lasting outcomes.
7. Be Mindful of Repetitive Facial Movements
Minimize excessive frowning, squinting, or eyebrow-raising. Keep your vision prescription updated to avoid squinting and try to be aware of habitual facial expressions—especially in bright light or while focusing.
8. Avoid Overheating and Skin Inflammation
Regular exposure to high heat (like hot yoga or saunas) and frequent facial inflammation (due to allergies or harsh products) can contribute to faster breakdown of neuromodulators.
9. Supplement with Zinc
Zinc supports botulinum toxin’s activity in the body. Take 50 mg of elemental zinc daily, from all supplement sources, starting 3–4 days before your tox appointment. Choose well-absorbed forms like zinc picolinate or citrate. A targeted supplement like Zytase (which includes zinc and phytase) may also help with absorption.
10. Use Additional Therapies to Support Botox
Treatments like (microneedling, and biologic injectables (such as PRP, biostimulators, or dermal filler) can improve skin texture, boost collagen, and enhance overall results when paired with Botox.
